Google slashes business app rates for Indian SMBs

Google India has reduced the prices of its online business applications for small and medium businesses (SMBs), even as it looks to stem growing competition from players such as Zoho Corp, potentially sparking a price war between Google, Salesforce and other players.

The Internet search giant has effected a 45 per cent price reduction in its ‘Google Apps for Business’, which include solutions such as Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides.

This move comes a few months after the company killed its free version of the software suite for organisations with up to 10 employees. “New and existing customers in India will now pay Rs. 150 per user per month if they are on the flexible plan, and Rs. 1,500 per user per year on the annual plan,” Judy Chang, Product Manager, Google Apps for Business, said in a company blogpost.

“India is home to around 47 million small businesses, yet only one per cent of these businesses are online. We hope that by making Google Apps more affordable, more small businesses in India will be able to access a business-ready package of communication and collaboration tools,” Ms. Chang added.

Zoho Corp, on the other hand, is looking to woo SMBs through better marketing and free plans.

The company recently revamped its pricing plan for Zoho Mail, making it free for up to 5 users now.

Vindoo Singh was in touch with Srinivasan’s son-in-law

The call records of Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh — arrested here on Tuesday in connection with ongoing investigations into the IPL betting and spot-fixing scandal — show that he was in frequent touch with Ramesh Vyas, a bookie arrested earlier by the Mumbai police, and Gurunath Meiyappan, Team Principal of Chennai Super Kings, police officials said.

Mr. Meiyappan is the son-in-law of CSK owner and president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) N. Srinivasan.

According to Mumbai police sources, Mr. Singh has told them that he shares ‘very good’ relations with Mr. Meiyappan. “We have found frequent calls made to Ramesh Vyas and a certain number from Chennai, which has been traced to Meiyappan,” said an investigating officer on condition of anonymity.

The police are investigating whether the frequent, “alternate” calls made to the two were related to the betting racket of which Mr. Singh was a part. Mumbai police officials would not confirm if Meiyappan will be called for interrogation. A senior officer told The Hindu that as of now no decision has been taken but that the police will seek his formal statement in the matter.

Neither Mr. Meiyappan nor Mr. Srinivasan was available for comment.

The police said Mr. Singh has confessed to being in the betting racket for the past 7 to 8 years and to earning more than Rs 17 lakh in this season of the IPL. “He has told us that betting took place on all the matches in this IPL and in the previous edition. The betting also took place on matches in the cricket world cup,” said an officer.

Mr. Singh’s close relations with bookies also became clear after he allegedly helped two bookies, Sanjay Jaipur and Pawan Jaipur escape to Dubai after the scandal broke.

“He booked hotel rooms for them and arranged transportation on May 17. He even arranged transportation for them to the airport. We have seized three mobile phones from the actor’s residence which belong to Pawan Jaipur,” said an officer.

Meanwhile, a local court here has sent six bookies arrested earlier by the Mumbai police, Ramesh Vyas, Pandurang Kadam, Ashok Vyas, Neeraj Shah, Pravin Behra, and Pankaj Shah Alias Lotus, to judicial custody till June 5.

Murray pulls out of French Open through injury

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's world number two Andy Murray has pulled out of the French Open after failing to recover from a lower back injury which he aggravated at the Italian Open last week.

"It's a really tough decision and I love playing in Paris, but after seeking medical advice, I am not fit to compete," Murray said in a statement released by his management company.

"Apologies to the organisers and thanks to everyone for the messages of support. Now my complete focus is on getting back on the court as soon as possible."

Murray retired injured in the Italian Open second round in Rome on his 26th birthday last Wednesday after levelling his match with Spaniard Marcel Granollers by winning the second set.

"I'd be very surprised if I were playing in Paris," he said after having treatment on court. "I want to make sure that it's something that I can sort out. It's not enjoyable to play now."

The French Open, which starts on May 26 at Roland Garros, will be the first grand slam Murray has missed since Wimbledon in 2007 when he had a wrist injury.

He will now focus on preparing for the grass court season and set his sights on being ready to play at Queen's Club, the warmup event for Wimbledon starting on June 10. (Writing by Ken Ferris; Editing by John Mehaffey)

Sreesanth says did not indulge in spot-fixing

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Cricketer Sreesanth has insisted he is innocent of any wrongdoing in the ongoing spot-fixing scandal and is confident of emerging from the "tough period" with his dignity intact.

The 30-year-old bowler was one of three players, along with 11 bookmakers, arrested last week on suspicion of spot-fixing in the (IPL) Twenty20 competition, the allegations also earning him an immediate suspension from the cricket board.

"I am innocent and have done no wrong. I have never indulged in any spot-fixing and I have always played cricket in the spirit of the game," the paceman said in a statement issued late on Tuesday through his lawyer.

"As a cricketer, I have learnt to take knocks along with accolades in my stride. I recognise that I am going through a tough period in my life.

"I have utmost faith in our judicial process and I am confident that with time, I will be proved innocent and my honour and dignity will be vindicated and restored," said the cricketer, who played the last of his 27 tests against England at The Oval in August 2011.

The Kerala pacer represented IPL's Rajasthan franchise this season, has been accused of taking money to concede a fixed number of runs in one of his overs during a May 9 match against Kings XI Punjab.

Legal sports betting in India is confined to horse racing, while illegal gambling syndicates thrive in the absence of a law dealing specifically with such corruption in sport.

Media estimates put the amount gambled on India's top Twenty20 competition at $427 million in 2009.

India's film industry has also been pulled into the controversy when Mumbai Police arrested a Bollywood actor, Vindu Dara Singh, on Tuesday for alleged links to a bookmaker.

Kunal Roy Kapoor in search of hero for directorial

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Bollywood actor Kunal Roy Kapoor is currently in search of a leading man for his new directorial project. He says the script for the film is ready, and a producer is also on board for it already.

"I am hoping to direct a movie by the end of the year. I have a producer on board. I am casting for it at the moment," Kunal told IANS.

Kunal said the film falls in the genre of a dark comedy, and that it will go on floors as soon as the cast is finalised.

"I can't say too much about it. It is a sort of comedy and a social satire. I hope people enjoy it. I am still on the look out for my leading man," he said.

Kunal, who was seen as an actor in "Delhi Belly", earlier went behind the camera for 2009 film "The President is Coming".

On the acting front, Kunal will be seen in "Golu and Pappu in the House". He features in it with Vir Das.

"We finished shooting the film quite a while ago. The project has been ready for release and it will release sometime this year," he said.

Kunal said it is a "family entertainer", and added: "Kids and families will enjoy it. It is a comedy. It was a fun experience working with Vir again (after 'Delhi Belly'). So really looking forward to it," he said.

The film is directed by Kabir Sadanand.

This IPL is exceptional: Big B

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is disappointed with the spot-fixing scandals surrounding the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Nevertheless, he believes it has been an exceptional season.

He was specifically impressed by the huge turnout of cricket aficionados at the Ferozeshah Kotla Grounds in Delhi Tuesday night.

"Disturbing on all the wrongs that overcome IPL, but exhilarated to see massive turn out at Feroz Shah Kotla for the CSK (Chennai Super Kings) vs MI (Mumbai Indians), despite. This has been an exceptional IPL - competitive, exciting, nerve racking, incredible game play... and still no limits established," Amitabh posted on Twitter.

The actor is an avid watcher of the game.

Dhanush enjoys 'Raanjhanaa' dubbing

Southern star Dhanush, who makes his Bollywood debut with "Raanjhanaa", has finished the first phase of the movie's dubbing. After admitting that he was finding it tough to dub for the film, he has now said he is satisfied with his work.

The 29-year-old stars opposite Sonam Kapoor in the movie and is looking forward to rest of the dubbing.

"Finished first half dubbing for 'Raanjhanaa'. So happy with the film and the fact that I have managed to dubb. Come on! Bring it on second half," Dhanush posted on Twitter.

Directed by Aanand L.Rai, the movie will release June 21.

Tamil actor Dhanush, who has begun dubbing for his upcoming Hindi debut "Raanjhanaa", says he finds the experience tough but wishes to give his best to satisfy his audiences.

Soha finishes Delhi schedule for 'War Chhod Na Yaar'

It seems shooting for "War Chhod Na Yaar" under Delhi's scorching sun was getting irksome for actress Soha Ali Khan, who is now relieved that the shooting in the capital has come to an end.

"After a two day shoot in 46 degree heat in delhi, 'War Chhod Na Yaar' is finally at an end. Time to hang up my dusty boots, put on some heels," Soha posted on Twitter.

The movie also stars Sharman Joshi and is said to be a satire on war. Directed by Faraz Haider and produced by AOPL Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the film also features Jaaved Jaffrey and Mukul Dev.

'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' ties up with hair oil brand

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) A hair oil brand, endorsed by Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, has come on board as the official partner of her forthcoming movie "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie, which stars Deepika and her former beau Ranbir Kapoor, is produced by Dharma Productions.

A TV commercial highlighting the association between Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil and the movie was unveiled at an event here. Winners of a contest organised by the hair product company got a chance to meet Ranbir and Deepika.

The contest required people to share their 'Tender Love and Care' moments, and the best ones were handpicked by Deepika herself, said a statement.

"I am happy to have met the winners of the contest and feel privileged that they shared their tender love and care moments with us. Both Parachute Advansed Tender Coconut Hair Oil and 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' hold a very special place in my heart," Deepika said.

"Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", releasing May 31, also stars Kalki Koechlin and Sidharth Roy Kapoor.

Film production a thankless job: Preity

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Actress Preity Zinta, who is gearing up for the release of her debut production venture "Ishkq in Paris", finds production work difficult. She says it's more like crisis-management and is a thankless job.

"The toughest part was crisis-management. Production, of course, is a thankless job," she said at a promotional event of the film.

"What happens is that everybody's problem is your problem. As an actor, you are used to isolating yourself. When you are on set, you just focus on your role and the rest doesn't matter," she added.

Preity said that whenever she tried to take some time for herself, someone or the other would come to her with a problem or more.

"That time I was like, 'God, why is it happening with me?' But having said that, I like to multi-task and at the end of the day, I feel if you have taken on a certain responsibility, you should shoulder it," she said.

Meanwhile, Preity, who also plays the main lead in the film, says the film is very contemporary and identifiable.

"'Ishkq in Paris' is an identifiable film. It does not challenge your intelligence. It is coming out in 2013 and has the persona of today's people," she said.

Directed by Prem Raj, "Ishkq in Paris" features debutant Rhehan Malliek opposite Preity. It releases Friday.

My father, my inspiration: Shruti Haasan

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Actress Shruti Haasan, daughter of veteran actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, says her father has been very inspiring for her. She marvels at her father's dedication and says he has the same enthusiasm that a newcomer has for his work.

"He has been an inspiration for me, personally. Just the way I look at him deal with his career, how he works," Shruti said here.

"Even at this time, he does so much hard work and has so much dedication. He has the same enthusiasm that a newcomer has for his work and that has been very inspiring for me," added the 27-year-old.

Shruti is also impressed with her father's directorial skills and minces no words in praising him for that.

"He is a good director. He brings in an actor's point of view very clearly. When you see his film, you know an actor is thinking about how to direct the film," she said.

She doesn't rule out acting in a film directed by her father someday.

After doing Bollywood films like "Luck" and "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji", Shruti will soon be seen in two more Hindi projects - "Ramaiya Vastavaiya" and "D-Day".

While in the former, she is paired opposite producer Kumar S. Taurani's son Girish Kumar, in "D-Day", she will be seen with actors like Arjun Rampal, Rishi Kaporr, Irrfan and Huma Qureshi.

விஸ்வரூபம் திரைப்படத்தில் வரும் சவூதி அரேபியர் ஒருவர், அபின் வியாபாரம் செய்வதாகவும், அதனை தாலிபான் தலைவர்கள் சாதாரணமாக எடுப்பதாகவும் காண்பித்திருப்பார்கள். அது உண்மைக்கு புறம்பான தகவலை தெரிவிக்கின்றது. சி.ஐ.ஏ யின் உதவி பெற்ற குல்புதின் ஹெக்மதியாரின் இயக்கம், ஹெரோயின் போதைவஸ்து கடத்தலில் ஈடுபட்டு வந்தது. இது அன்று, அமெரிக்க அரசு, பாகிஸ்தான் அரசு உட்பட, எல்லோருக்கும் தெரியும். அனேகமாக, முஜாகிதீன் குழுக்கள் சீரழிந்ததற்கு இது போன்ற கிரிமினல் செயற்பாடுகளும் முக்கிய காரணம். அன்று பல முஜாகிதீன் ஆயுதக் குழுக்கள் போதைவஸ்து கடத்தி வந்தன.

அமெரிக்காவின் ஆசீர்வாதம் பெற்ற "விடுதலைப் போராளிகள்", ஆப்கான்  வர்த்தகர்களிடம், மக்களிடம் கப்பம் வசூலித்து வந்தனர். கேட்கும் பணத்தை கொடுக்க மறுத்தால், கடத்திச் சென்று சித்திரவதை செய்தனர். அது போதாதென்று, போராளிக் குழுக்களில் சிறுவர்களையும் பலாத்காரமாக  சேர்ப்பது, பெண்களை பாலியல் வல்லுறவு செய்வது....இப்படி அவர்களது கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பிரதேசங்களில், குற்றங்கள் வரம்பு மீறிப் போய்க் கொண்டிருந்தன. சோவியத் படைகளின் வெளியேற்றத்தின் பின்னர், ஆயுதக் குழுக்கள் ஒன்றுடன் ஒன்று அதிகாரத்திற்காக மோதிக் கொண்டன.  மக்களுக்கும், ஆயுதக் குழுக்களுக்கும் இடையில் விரிசல் ஏற்பட்டது. அத்தகைய தருணத்தில் தான், தாலிபான்கள் உருவானார்கள். சரியாகச் சொன்னால், CIA யும், ISI யும் தாலிபான் என்ற புதிய இயக்கத்தை உருவாக்கினார்கள். ஒசாமா பின்லாடனும், அவரை பின்பற்றிய அரபு தொண்டர்களும், புதிய இயக்கத்துடன் சேர்ந்து கொண்டனர். 

ஆப்கானிஸ்தானின் பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு தீர்வாக, அமெரிக்கா பாகிஸ்தானுடன் சேர்ந்து, தாலிபான் என்ற இயக்கத்தை உருவாக்கியது. ஆப்கானிஸ்தானில் ஏற்கனவே ஒரு மாற்று அரசியல் சக்தி இருந்தது. அவர்கள் மேற்கத்திய நாகரீகத்திற்கு மிகவும் நெருக்கமானவர்கள். அதாவது, பெண் கல்வி, ஆண் - பெண் சமத்துவம், மேற்கத்திய கலாச்சாரம், மதச்சார்பற்ற அரசு.... இவற்றை எல்லாம் ஆதரிப்பார்கள். ஆனால், அமெரிக்காவுக்கு அவர்களுடன் தொடர்பு கொள்ள விருப்பமில்லை. ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள் ஆப்கான் மார்க்சிஸ்டுகள்! அமெரிக்காவை பொறுத்தவரையில், மார்க்சிஸ்டுகள் மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைப்பதை விட, தாலிபான் போன்ற மத அடிப்படைவாதிகளை வளர்த்து விடுவது சிறந்ததாக பட்டது.

ஆப்கானிஸ்தானை இஸ்லாமிய மத அடிப்படைவாதிகள் தான் ஆளவேண்டும் என்பதே அமெரிக்காவின் எதிர்பார்ப்பாக இருந்துள்ளது. இப்போது அந்த மார்க்சிஸ்டுகள் எங்கே? உண்மையில், தாலிபான் படைகள் முன்னேறும் வரையில், அவர்கள் அங்கே தான் இருந்தார்கள். ஆப்கானிஸ்தானில் பெரும்பகுதி தாலிபான் ஆட்சியின் கீழ் வந்த பின்னர், அகதிகளாக வெளியேறினார்கள். குறைந்தது பத்தாயிரம் ஆப்கான் மார்க்சிஸ்டுகள், அவர்களது குடும்பங்களுடன் ரஷ்யா ஊடாக நெதர்லாந்து வந்து சேர்ந்தனர். அந்த நாட்டில், அனைவருக்கும் அகதி தஞ்சம் வழங்கப் பட்டது. அவர்களில் பலரை நான் நேரில் சந்தித்து உரையாடி இருக்கிறேன். சிலர் இன்றைக்கும் எனது உற்ற நண்பர்களாக இருக்கின்றனர். ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் பற்றிய இந்தக் கட்டுரைகள் எழுதுவதற்கு, அவர்கள் வழங்கிய தகவல்கள் பெரிதும் உதவி உள்ளன. அவர்களுக்கு நான் நன்றி கூறக் கடமைப் பட்டுள்ளேன்.

ஐயகோ! சீனா இந்தியாவில் கால் பதித்து விட்டது!

"இலங்கையில் சீனா முதலிட்டு வருகின்றது, ஆழமாக கால் பதித்து விட்டது, அது இந்தியாவுக்கு ஆபத்து..." என்று சிலர், இந்திய அரசுக்கு கோள் மூட்டிக் கொடுத்து அரசியல் நடத்திக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர். இவர்கள் இன்னமும் 1962 ம் ஆண்டில் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்களோ, என்று நினைக்கத் தோன்றுகின்றது. 

1962 ம் ஆண்டு, இந்திய - சீன எல்லைப் போர் நடந்ததும், அன்றில் இருந்து இரண்டு நாடுகளும் பகைவர்களாக நடந்து கொண்டதும் கடந்த கால வரலாறு. ஆனால், 21 ம் நூற்றாண்டில் உலகம் தலைகீழாக மாறி விட்டது. இன்றைக்கு இந்தியாவின் முதன்மையான வர்த்தகக் கூட்டாளி யார் தெரியுமா? நம்பினால் நம்புங்கள், அது சீனா தான்! இதனை நான் சொன்னால் நம்ப மாட்டீர்கள் என்பது தெரியும். வேறு யார் சொல்ல வேண்டும்?  CIA யின் வருடாந்த அறிக்கையில், சீனா இந்தியாவின் முக்கியமான வர்த்தக கூட்டாளி என்று குறிப்பிடப் பட்டுள்ளது. 

இந்தியப் பொருளாதாரம், தொண்ணூறுகளுக்கு பின்னர் தாராள மயப் படுத்தப் பட்டது. அப்போது அது, மேற்கத்திய நாடுகளின் முதலீட்டை எதிர்பார்த்திருந்தது.  குறிப்பாக, இயந்திரங்கள் போன்ற பெரும் மூலதனத்தை அடிப்படையாக கொண்ட பொருட்களை, மேற்கத்திய நாடுகளிடம் இருந்து தருவிக்க வேண்டியிருந்தது. ஆனால், காலப்போக்கில் சீனா உலகில் பெரிய பொருளாதார வல்லரசாக மாறி வருகையில், இந்தியாவினால் அதனை தவிர்க்க முடியவில்லை. மேற்கத்திய நாடுகளிடம் வாங்க வேண்டிய அதே பொருட்களை, சீனாவிடம் குறைந்த விலைக்கு வாங்க முடிகின்றது. இன்று சீன உற்பத்தி சாதனங்கள், அனைத்து ஆசிய நாடுகளுக்கும் ஏற்றுமதியாகின்றன.  இந்தியாவும் அதற்கு விதி விலக்கல்ல. 

இந்தியாவுக்கும், சீனாவுக்கும் இடையிலான இரு தரப்பு வர்த்தக உறவில், சீனாவே ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்துகின்றது. ஏனென்றால், இன்று பெரும்பான்மையான இந்திய இறக்குமதிப் பொருட்கள் சீனாவில் வாங்கப் படுகின்றன. கடந்த வருடம் அது 12% மாக இருந்தது. அதே நேரம், சீனாவுக்கான இந்திய ஏற்றுமதி 6.3% மட்டுமே. (ஆதாரம்: CIA  World Fact Book) இரு தரப்பு வர்த்தகத்தில் நிலவும் ஏற்றத் தாழ்வுக்கு காரணம், சீனாவுக்கு அவசியமான பொருட்கள் பல பொருட்கள் இந்தியாவிடம் கிடையாது. குறிப்பாக, பருத்தி, மற்றும் கனிமப் பொருட்கள் போன்ற மூலப் பொருட்கள் தான் முக்கியமான ஏற்றுமதியாக இருக்கின்றன. இரு தரப்பு வர்த்தகத்தில் நிலவும் ஏற்றத்தாழ்வு நிரப்பப் பட வேண்டும் என்பது இந்தியாவின் கவலையாக உள்ளது. சீன தரப்பிலும் அதன் முக்கியத்துவம் உணரப் பட்டுள்ளது. இந்தப் பிரச்சினையை தீர்ப்பதற்காக, சீன நிறுவனங்கள் இந்தியாவில் முதலிட்டு தொழில் நடத்த வேண்டும் என இந்திய அரசு விரும்புகின்றது.

"தமிழினக் காவலர்" வைகோ, இந்திய அரசுக்கு (அல்லது தமிழர்களுக்கு) சீனப் பூச்சாண்டி காட்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அதே நேரம், அவரது மதிமுக கூட்டணி அமைத்துள்ள பாஜக, இந்தியாவில் சீனா முதலிட வேண்டுமென வருந்தி அழைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.  "வருங்கால பிரதமராக" கருதப்படும், குஜராத் மாநில முதல்வர் நரேந்திர மோடி, 2011 ல் சீனாவுக்கு விஜயம் செய்த நேரம், தனது மாநிலத்தில் சீனா முதலீடு செய்ய வேண்டுமென்று கோரியுள்ளார்.   

சீன அரசின் முதலீட்டு வங்கி, இந்தியாவில் கிளையை திறந்துள்ளது. இதன் மூலம், தற்போது இலங்கைக்கு கிடைப்பதைப் போன்று, சீனக் கடன்கள் இந்தியாவுக்கு கிடைக்கலாம். இலகுவான சீனக் கடன்கள், சீன முதலீடுகளை ஊக்குவிப்பதுடன், நிபந்தனைகளும் குறைவாக இருக்கும் என்பதால், இந்தியா விரும்பி ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள இடமுண்டு. அதற்கு மாறாக, IMF இடம் கடன் வாங்குவதற்கு முன்னர், மனித உரிமைகள் பாடம் படிக்க வேண்டியிருக்கும். அமெரிக்காவில் நுழைய விசா மறுக்கப்பட்ட, "குஜராத் இனப் படுகொலையாளி" நரேந்திர மோடி, எதற்காக சீனாவுக்கு சென்றார் என்பது இப்போது புரிந்திருக்கும். 

முதன்முதலாக மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்தில், சீன நிறுவனம் ஒன்று, இயந்திரங்களை உற்பத்தி செய்யும் தொழிற்சாலை ஒன்றை நிறுவி உள்ளது. 70 மில்லியன் டாலரில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட தொழிற்சாலை, எல்லாம் நல்ல படியாக நடந்தால், முதலீட்டை இரட்டிப்பாக்கப் போவதாக அதன் நிர்வாகி தெரிவிக்கின்றார். இதை விட, குறைந்தது 10 சீன நிறுவனங்கள் ஏற்கனவே தொழிலகங்களை நிறுவத் தொடங்கி உள்ளன. 100 நிறுவனங்கள் தமது அலுவலகங்களை திறந்துள்ளன. சூரிய சக்தியில் இயங்கும் உபகரணங்களை தயாரிக்கும் நிறுவனம் ஒன்று, இந்திய சந்தைக்கான பொருட்களை இந்தியாவில் உற்பத்தி செய்யத் தொடங்கி உள்ளது. உலகில் பிரபலமான கைத் தொலைபேசி தயாரிப்பாளரான Huawei பெங்களூரில் ஒரு ஆய்வு மையத்தை கட்டி வருகின்றது. 

இந்தியாவும், சீனாவும் வளர்ந்து வரும் பொருளாதாரத்தை கொண்டுள்ளன. ஆனால், சீனாவின் வளர்ச்சி இந்தியாவினுடையதை விட பன்மடங்கு அதிகமானது என்ற உண்மையையும் மறுக்க முடியாது. இருபது வருடங்களுக்கு முன்னர் சீனா  இருந்த நிலையில், இன்று இந்தியா இருப்பதாக இந்திய பொருளாதார அறிஞர்கள் கூறுகின்றனர். இங்கே முக்கியமாக கவனிக்கப் பட வேண்டியது, அந்த இருபது வருட காலங்களும் இந்திய சந்தை திறந்து விடப் பட்டிருந்தது. "இந்தியாவை வளப்படுத்தி வல்லரசாக்கும்", என பெரும் நம்பிக்கையுடன் வரவேற்கப்பட்ட மேற்குலக நாடுகள், இந்தியாவை ஏமாற்றி விட்டதாக உணரும் காலம் வந்துள்ளது. அதே நேரம், இன்று மேற்குலக நாடுகள் கூட சீனாவில் தங்கியுள்ளன, என்ற யதார்த்தத்தையும் இந்தியா புரியாமல் இல்லை. 

குருவும் சீடரும்! - குட்டிக்கதை

     தான் வெளியூர் சென்று திரும்பும்முன் தான்எழுதிய நூலைப் படித்து முடித்துவிடுமாறுகுருகுலத்தில் சீடர்களிடம் சொல்லிச் சென்றார்அந்த குருநாதர்.

   எல்லோரும் முழுமையாகப் படித்து முடித்திருந்தார்கள். 

    ஒரே ஒரு சீடர், அதில் ஒரேயொரு வரியை மட்டுமே படித்ததாக சொன்னார்.

அந்த சீடரை அழைத்து ”நீ படித்த வரி என்ன?”என்று கேட்டார்.

”உன் கோபத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்து. எப்போதும் நிதானமாக இரு” என்பதே அந்த வாசகம்.

 

     வெட்கித் தலை கவிழ்ந்தார் குரு.

Http, Https என்ன வித்தியாசம்?

 

   சாதாரணமாக நம்முடைய உலவியில் ஒரு வலைத்தளத்தைக்காண Uniform Resource Locator என்று சொல்லக்கூடிய URL கொடுத்து நாம் விரும்பும் வலைத்தளத்திற்குச் செல்வோம்.   இந்த URL -ல் உள்ள முதன்மைப் பகுதி http. அல்லது https எனத்தொடங்கும்.  இவ்விரண்டும் ஒன்றேதானா?  அல்லதுவெவ்வேறா?  இரண்டிற்குமுள்ள வித்தியாசம்தான் என்ன? என்பதை இப்பதிவில் தெரிந்துகொள்வோம். 

  முதலில் Http என்றால் என்ன என்பதை தெரிந்துகொள்வோம். 

     http என்பது Hyper text transfer protocol என்பதன் சுருக்கமே httpஎன்பது. 

  இதனுடன் secure என்ற வார்த்தையும் சேர்க்கும்போது Hyper text transfer protocol secure என்றாகிவிடும். இதுவே https என்றுகுறிப்பிடப்படுகிறது.

 

    இணையப்பக்கங்களை பயன்படுத்தும்போது httpஎனத்தொடங்கும் பக்கங்கள் நாம் உள்ளிடும் தகவல்களைமற்றவர்கள் பெற்றுப் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடிய சாத்தியங்கள்இருக்கிறது. 

    https எனத்தொடங்கும் வலைத்தளங்களில் உள்ளிடப்படும்தகவல்களைப் பிறர் அணுக முடியாது.  இது முற்றிலும்பாதுகாப்புடையதாகும்.

இதுதான் இவ்விரண்டிற்குமுள்ள வித்தியாசம்.

  

  உதாரணத்திற்கு உங்களுடைய G-mail கணக்கைத்திறக்கும்போது உங்களுடைய அட்ரஸ் பாரில் https://www.gmail.com என்றிருந்தால், அது முற்றிலும்பாதுகாப்பானது. தவிர http://gmail.com எனத்தொடங்கினால்அத்தகைய தளத்திலிருந்து உங்களுடைய தகவல்களை பிறர்அணுக வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது. 

    சாதாரணமாக வலைத்தளங்களில் நம்முடைய சொந்ததகவல்களை பகிர்வதை முடிந்த வரையில் தவிர்த்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும். இணையம் மூலம் வர்த்தகம் செய்வோர்,பொருட்களை வாங்குவோர், மற்றும் பல தேவைகளுக்குதங்களுடைய கிரடிட் கார்ட், டெபிட் கார்ட் (Credit card, debit card)போன்றவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்தும்போது முழு கவனத்துடன்செயல்படவேண்டும். 

   இணையத்தின் வழியாக பண பரிமாற்றம் (Money transfer)செய்யும்போது இதை மனதில் வைத்து செயல்பட வேண்டும். நாம்பண பரிவர்த்தனை செய்யும் தளம் பாதுகாப்பானதுதானா என்றுநமக்கு குறிப்பிட்டு அடையாளப்படுத்தக்கூடியவைதான் Hyper text transfer protocol secure ஆகும். 

    இவ்வாறான வணிக தளங்கள், வங்கி தளங்கள் (Business sites, banking sites) தளங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தும்போது ஒன்றுக்குஇருமுறை நன்றாக அட்ரஸ் பாரில் உள்ள URL-ஐ (Address bar)கவனித்து, அதில் https:// என ஆரம்பிக்கிறதா என சரிபார்த்தபின்னரே இன்டர்நெட் பேங்கிங் (Internet Banking), online purchaseஆகியவைகளில் ஈடுபடவேண்டும்.

புத்திசாலித்தனம் வாழ்க்கையில் முன்னேற முக்கியம்

ஒரு ஊரில் கண்பார்வை இல்லாத ஒருவர் பிச்சை எடுத்துப் பிழைத்து வந்தார். அவர் தினமும் "கடவுளே என்னை இப்படிப் படைத்து விட்டாயே...
உனக்கு கண் இல்லையா? தினமும் நான் கஷ்டப்படுகிறேனே..." என்று புலம்பியபடி கடவுளைத் திட்டிக் கொண்டேயிருந்தார்.

அவனது திட்டு பொறுக்க முடியாமல் கடவுள் ஒருநாள் அவன் முன் தோன்றி,"நான் கடவுள் வந்திருக்கிறேன்.

உனக்கு என்ன வரம் வேண்டும் கேள். ஆனால் ஒரு நிபந்தனை. ஒரே ஒரு வரம் மட்டும் தான் கேட்க வேண்டும்." என்றார்.

பார்வையற்றவரும் அதற்கு ஒப்புக் கொண்டு சிறிது நேரம் யோசித்தார். பின்பு சிறிது நேரம் யோசித்து கீழ்கண்ட வரத்தைக் கேட்டார்.

"ராஜவீதியில் தங்கத் தேர் ஓட்டி விளையாட, அவனைப் பெற்ற தாய் வெள்ளிக் கிண்ணத்தில் பால் சோறு ஊட்டுவதை என்னுடைய வீட்டின் ஏழாவது மாடியிலிருந்து நான் பார்த்து மகிழ வேண்டும்."

இந்த வரத்தில் பார்வை இல்லாதவன் , தனக்குப் பார்வை வேண்டும், ராஜயோக வாழ்க்கை வாழ வேண்டும், நூறாண்டு வாழ வேண்டும், ஏழு மாடி வீடு வேண்டும் என்பதயெல்லாம் ஒரே வரத்தில் கேட்டு விட்டான்.

அவனுடைய புத்திசாலித்தனமான பதிலைப் பாராட்டிய கடவுள் அவன் கேட்ட வரத்தைக் கொடுத்து மறைந்தார்.
